A whole icon of the world of two wheels will see the light next year with an electric motor now that sustainable mobility is almost mandatory in all the niches of the market ... and is that Piaggio does not want to stay behind with his mythical and charismatic Vespa.
For now there is no information on the engine that will use the electric Vespa but imagine that they will have reduced power and a range not too large. The battery could be placed in the usual hollow for the helmet, so that could be lost some practicality (maybe give a trunk).
What we do not know is what model will be used as the basis for the new electric scooter of the firm. The Spring / Sprint are significantly lighter than the GTS but the larger size of the latter could allow them to integrate a battery of greater capacity.
This is not the first time that Vespa will have an electric option in the market, since there are some 70s already on the adventure and even inside the Piaggio Group there is some hybrid mechanics (in the MP3 without going any further).
