Honda has unveiled today the naked CTX700N and the fairing CTX700 at the International Motorcycle Show in Chicago. This is the first news of an announced series of models CTX (Comfort Technology Experience) of which have not been revealed more details. The CTX follow the so-called "horizontal design" derived from its flagship, the GL1800 Goldwing. They are motorbikes whose appearance reveals a certain custom air, but with a greater arodinĂ¡mica protection in search of a greater comfort of march.
The development team of the new CTX has focused much of its efforts on creating a motorcycle in which comfort is one of its main virtues. In this sense the correct ergonomics, custom type, offers a comfortable driving posture, but also stands out for a very low seat height of only 720mm, which will allow to reach the ground with great ease. It has also taken into account the comfort of the passenger, positioning the foot plates in a more advanced way for greater comfort. In addition, considering the functionality of these bikes, the two versions have a practical cargo compartment located in the area of the fuel tank.
The engine takes the basis of the 670cc liquid cooled twin cylinder already known on the NC700S / X & INTEGRA, with the cylinders tilted forward, which ensures a low center of gravity, low vibration and reduced fuel consumption. Like its sisters, the new CTX will equip the exclusive automatic transmission system of double clutch DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) and the ABS braking system. Unfortunately, for the moment, the CTX will only be marketed in the USA.
